Phd Candidate, Chemist

Balla Dimitra is a chemist (AUTH, 2013), holder of a postgraduate diploma in “Chemical Analysis – Quality Control” (UOA, 2016) and a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry of the AUTH. The subject of her thesis concerns the “Study of Polychlorinated Alkanes in the Atmosphere”. She works at the Laboratory of Atmospheric Chemistry and Innovative Technologies (AirTec-Lab) of the NCSR “Demokritos” as a scientific associate (Oct. 2018-present). She has also worked at the Laboratory of Environmental Pollution Control of the AUTH (2014-2018), in the context of research programs. She has long-standing experience in air quality measurements, in analytical techniques for the determination of persistent and other pollutants carried out in an accredited laboratory according to the ELOT EN ISO 17025:2017 standard, in good handling of analytical instruments GC-MS, GC-ECD, IC, LC-MS, MAE, TOC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, fluorimeter, as well as in the statistical processing of results. She has participated in European research programs VISIONS, DRYADS, ICARUS and THALES. She has 9 publications in reputable scientific journals and 11 participations in proceedings of Greek/international conferences.
