Research interests
Maria Bibika is a Biologist and an M.Sc. student in oncology at the Medical School of the University of Crete. The M.Sc. program is held in conjunction with the National Hellenic Research Foundation. She has worked as a Scientific Associate in the Molecular Radiopharmacy laboratory of NCSR “Demokritos”, with a fixed-term contract (“Action for the Strategic Development on the Research and Technological Sectors” of the Operational Programme Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation (EPAnEK)). At present, she is conducting her Master Thesis research project in the field of Molecular Radiopharmacy. Notably, her research focuses on the improvement of metabolic stability of radiolabeled peptides for cancer diagnosis using enzyme inhibitors with a principal objective to enhance their bioavailability and targeted localization in cancer cells.
