Athanasios Papathanasiou works as an associate of the Hellenic Network of Precision Medicine on Cancer and Bioinformatics Research and is part of the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory of NCSR Demokritos (2019-present). He graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications in 2012. He then completed his Master of Science (MSc) in Information Technologies in Medicine and Biology, with degree in Bioinformatics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in 2015, with the honor of the class Valedictorian. He worked as part of the Scientific and Technical Staff of the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (2016-2019). He joined the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, in 2019 and became associate of the Hellenic Network of Precision Medicine on Cancer and Bioinformatics Research. Which both focuses on the analysis of Hereditary Cancer Predisposition Syndromes and Rare Diseases. He has taken part in many projects and volunteering acts. He has taken part in some scientific publications and plans on starting his PhD soon in the field of Bioinformatics.
