Dr Anna Kapella is a Chemical Engineer with specialisation in Organic Chemistry and is currently a post-doc researcher at the Institute of Nuclear and Radiological Sciences, Technology, Energy & Safety at NCSR ‘Demokritos’ (INRASTES). Her work in the framework of EPAnEK under the Single RTDI State Aid Action “RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE”, focuses on the development of diagnostic molecules for cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s.
Her research activities include the design and synthesis of organic molecules that can be used as potential drugs, diagnostic tools, or materials for organic electronics.
She holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (2009), MSc in Nanochemistry from the University Denis Diderot-Paris 7 (2010) and PhD in Organic Synthesis from the Agricultural University of Athens (2018). For her PhD, entitled “Design and Synthesis of Organic Compounds with applications to pharmaceutical chemistry and electronic devices”, she received a scholarship from NCSR Demokritos in 2011.
