ARGYROPOULOS
CHRISTOS

Postdoctoral Researcher, Chemical Engineer

Dr. Argyropoulos holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering (5-year degree equivalent to MSc.) from National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A) in 2006. He also received two Master’s degrees (MSc.) in “Computational Mechanics” and “Mathematical Modelling in Modern Technologies and Finance” from the same university in 2008 and 2010, respectively. He earned his D.I.C. and Ph.D. in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London in 2015. From November 2015 to May 2018, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University and Mary Kay O’ Connor Process Safety Center at Qatar. Recently, he earned a prestigious 3-year industrial research fellowship at NCSR “Demokritos” funding by Stavros Niarchos Foundation and Motor Oil Hellas (MOH).

His research interests, in general, deal with the development of numerical methods and models for the investigation of complex phenomena in the field of fluid mechanics, turbulence modelling, industrial and chemical process safety, indoor air quality, risk assessment, environmental health and exposure, biomechanics, fire and evacuation modelling. He has already 14 years of professional experience in the fields of Computational Fluid Dynamics and Process Safety (HSE specialist). He is a member and chartered engineer of Technical Chamber of Greece, starting in 2008. He has also published a number of original scientific papers in international Journals and conferences.
