Environmental pollutants originate from a variety of sources, both anthropogenic and natural. Knowledge of the major pollution sources and their quantitative contribution to the observed pollutant levels is crucial in order to make evidence-based decisions and develop effective mitigation measures. The training course “Source Apportionment of Environmental Pollutants”, organized by the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, aims at providing participants with a comprehensive overview of source apportionment methods, focusing on receptor modeling techniques and, particularly, Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF). The course will also provide specialised practical training on the use of the EPA PMF 5.0 software.
