Research functional scientist at NCSR “DEMOKRITOS”, chemical engineer with a double degree from both the National Technical University of Athens and the Politecnico di Milano, a Ph.D. in industrial accidents and a M.Sc. in Computational Engineering. With 20 years’ experience in Quantified Risk Assessment of industrial installations and Accident analysis. Her main focus of research has been on the causes of Industrial Accidents in the Oil and Gas sector (including offshore) as well as on the integration of Human Factors in the risk assessment, safety management and investigation of major accidents. She has extended experience in the implementation of SEVESO Directive in Greece. She has also provided scientific support to the European Offshore Safety Directive 2013/30/EU through a post-doc grant at the Institute of Energy and Transport at JRC Ispra. She has participated in many European and National research projects for the improvement of Industrial Safety and has also collaborated with numerous chemical industries on national and European level as well as with regulatory authorities and other research institutes in Greece and abroad. She has published more than 60 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings and has co- authored more than 120 technical reports in relevant fields of her research.
