Iason Markantonis (MSc) is a Research Associate at National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSRD). He received his Diploma (Bachelor Degree) in Physics (Department of Physics, University of Patras) in 2016 and his M.Sc in Applied Meteorology and Environmental Physics 2018 (Department of Physics, University of Patras). Since March 2019 is a PhD candidate, in Department of Physics University of Patras in collaboration with the Institute of Nuclear & Radiological Sciences & Technology, Energy & Safety (INRASTES) of the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSRD). In the same period, he has been involved in projects run by INRASTES, participating in 4 publications and has been the main author in 1 in peer reviewed journals.
His main field of research focus on the Statistical Analysis of Meteorological and Climatological variables derived from observations or climate models, the study of single or compound extreme climate events, and Climate Change impacts.
