Aggeliki Nikolakopoulou was born in Kalamata, Greece in 1988. She has received a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Athens and a Master of Science in Medical Physics. Currently she is a PhD student of the Medical Physics Department, Medical School of the University of Athens. The PhD thesis is realised in collaboration with the Health Physics, Radiobiology & Cytogenetics Laboratory of the Institute of Nuclear and Radiological Sciences and Technology, Energy and Safety of NCSR “Demokritos”, where she is also working since July 2017. Furthermore, she has been awarded a PhD research fellowship by Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

The objective of her Ph.D. project is the development and validation of radiation cytogenetic assays to predict individual radiosensitivity and optimize personalized radiation therapy.
