EXTREMAT

New Materials for Extreme Environments
2004-2010 | European Commission / FP6

Τhe ExtreMat Integrated Project targeted on the creation of new multifunctional materials being beyond reach with conventional incremental materials development only. Based on an integrated approach, ExtreMat will dramatically pushed forward the limits in materials technology and provided and industrialized new knowledge-based materials and compounds for top-end and new applications in extreme environments.

FTG Role: Scientific Coordinator for NCSRD.

Co-ordination of three workpackages:

  • Development of protective coatings with aerospace applications
  • Development of metal – ceramic joining for aerospace applications

Study of new materials with neutron and X-ray scattering techniques
