Phd Candidate, Geographer

Ms. Georgia Mavrokefalou is a Ph.D. candidate of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (School of Physics, Department of Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics) and National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (INRASTES/ERL). She has a diploma in Geography (HUA, 2014) and a master’s degree in Applied Geography and Spatial Planning, Stream C: Geoinformatics (HUA, 2016). From November 2016 she has started her Ph.D. thesis, titled “Study on the relation of radioactive pollution and satellite observations of marine parameters and comparative analysis on a Geographic Information System”, through the collaboration of ERL/INRASTES/NCSR “D” (Supervisor: Florou Heleny), the Department of Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics/ School of Physics/ AUTH (Supervisor: Kitis Georgios) and the NOA/IAASARS (Supervisor: Sykioti Olga). From August 2017 her Ph.D. thesis is supported and financed through the NCSR”D” and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) program of Industrial Fellowships. In this Industrial Scholarship she is also supported by the company Geospatial Enabling Technologies (GET) (Company Supervisor: Vakkas Theodoros).
