ZARIKOS IOANNIS

Ioannis Zarikos is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at NCSR Demokritos. He received his B.Sc. in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and his joint M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from Ghent University and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, where he focused on two-phase flow in sandstones. In 2014 he joined the Environmental Hydrogeology Group, at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, to continue his work on multiphase flow in porous media, from where he received his Ph.D. degree in 2018. In September 2018, he became a member of the Multiscale Engineering Fluid Dynamics (MEFD), at Eindhoven University of Technology. Since 2019 he has been Research Associate at NCSR Demokritos. His work focuses on the following:

  • Microfluidics manufacturing
  • Multi-phase flow in natural/artificial porous media
  • IoT for environmental applications
  • Fresh and groundwater applications
  • Earth & environmental sciences in general
