Ioanna Tzagkaroulaki is a Geologist (BSc, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens; thesis on ophiolitic rocks of Crete) with an MSc in “Protection of Monuments: Materials and Conservation Interventions” (National Technical University of Athens) and extensive experience in applied geochemistry and analytical method development. Since 2007 she has been serving at NCSR “Demokritos” (INRASTES) as Special Scientific Staff, supporting advanced environmental and geo-related analytics, including VOCs by GC-FID (with an ESYD-accredited benzene method), carbonyls by HPLC, and OC/EC determination by thermal/optical analysis, as well as materials characterization (XRD, SEM). Her earlier work includes petroleum-reservoir and porous-media topics (e.g., asphaltene precipitation / deposition control) and tracer analytics in petroleum fluids at the Institute for Energy Technology (Norway), reflecting a strong profile at the interface of geology–geochemistry and robust analytical workflows.
She is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Western Macedonia (UoWM).
