Exploitation Expert, Geologist

Elena Efraimiadou is a Geologist and Geo-environmental Specialist, graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with specialization in Applied Environmental Geology (MSc in Applied Environmental Geology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, graduated with honors). She has more than 15 years of experience in EU- and nationally funded programmes, including Interreg IPA CBC Greece–Italy, EUROMED, ADRION, Greece–Albania, Erasmus+, EEA Grants, as well as LEADER initiatives and projects funded by the Green Fund. Her professional track record focuses on projects implementing European environmental policy, with particular emphasis on climate resilience.
Her work is characterized by multi-stakeholder collaboration with public authorities (including local and regional bodies), research and academic institutions, civil society organizations, as well as private-sector actors and professional associations. She also has more than 10 years of experience in the design and implementation of lifelong learning programmes, both in person and online. In parallel, she has coordinated the production of short scientific documentary films at the European level, as well as other communication and dissemination activities aimed at highlighting the results of funded projects.
She is currently working at the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSRD), at the Integrated Hydrogen Laboratory (H2Lab).
