Study for the transformation of DESFA's Natural Gas Grid into “Hydrogen – ready”
2020- | ΔΕΣΦΑ (2020)

Preparation of a comprehensive study for the conversion of the natural gas network (taking all parameters into account) so that it is ready to receive hydrogen. The injection of hydrogen into natural gas networks has been widely adopted both in Europe and worldwide in order to achieve the following results: 1) Easy, efficient, and economical storage and transport of hydrogen within the networks in very large quantities, and 2) reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the use of natural gas, especially if the hydrogen injected is “green.” The study concluded with recommendations for the next steps/actions to be taken in the near future to ensure that the DESFA network is ready to receive hydrogen.
